Glass Window Films – Easy Solutions For You Home

by Rob Mclaney

Glass window films are a wonderful and very affordable way to improve your home. Any glass surfaces from windows and doors to shower enclosures can be transformed. Window films come in numerous designs, sizes, and shapes and can give your ordinary windows or doors the look of stained, frosted or etched glass. Plus, they are cheap, much cheaper than the real thing.

What exactly is window film made of? It’s a thin layer of adhesive-free film made of polyester and metal alloys. It has many different uses and it’s easy to lay, easy to clean, and easy to remove. It can be applied to any glass surface.

Installation is really a breeze. All you need is a few common tools – spray bottle, utility knife, and a squeegee. If you’re planning to do any large windows, it’s good to have a helper.

The procedure is a follows: spray the film, spray the glass, apply the film to the glass and slide it into position, squeeze out the liquid using a squeegee, and wait for it to dry. That’s about it, 15 minutes of your time and you are done.

The benefits of window films are many and they include: increased privacy, enhanced aesthetics, reduced glare, temperature and energy costs, protection from sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays, increased safety and security, and protection from broken glass just to name a few.

We all know how expensive the actual stained or etched glass is. Window films, on the other hand, offer the same look at only a fraction of the cost. It’s no wonder homeowners love it. They are affordable, easy to install, easy to maintain, and easy to remove and replace, if you choose to do so. Simply put, they work.

Whether it’s increasing privacy, UV blocking, or simply just decorating, glass window films can meet your requirements. Don’t overlook it.
